Bees awards: Part 2

Yeah, I know I introduced these awards a while ago, but certain things got in the way. (Mostly soccer plus another project which I completed at 3:30 this morning. But you don’t care about that.) Anyhoo, here’s the Bees’ Most Outstanding Goalie and Most Valuable Player.
Most Outstanding Goalie
-David Lemanowicz’s numbers were by no means great, but he also faced 1,336 shots in 36 appearances, for an average of 37.1 per game. That makes his .902 save percentage even more impressive.
Unfortunately for Lemanowicz and the Bees, he obviously tired at the end of the season. He was at his best when he was in an equal partnership, which he was before Jeff Van Nynatten was dealt to Mississippi for Bernie Chmiel.
Most Valuable Player
- I know, I know, naming an MVP for the league’s worst team is tough to do, but Rob Voltera’s grit (just count all the times he blocked shots from the point with his body) combined with his production, make him the choice here.
- The CHL postseason resumes tomorrow night in Colorado. I hope, for the league’s sake, that Texas wins the North, Arizona wins the South and both teams introduce some new blood into the finals.
I don’t think anybody outside of Laredo or Loveland wants to see those teams back in the championship round. It’s nothing personal, but I think it would be great for the CHL to have at least one new team.
- I’ve sent out requests for another round of Q&As. Those should come soon, I hope.
