I have about a 10-minute drive from my palacial apartment in Edinburg to the office, which usually gives me time to listen to one or two songs.
Today, one of the local radio stations played “Dani California” by The Red Hot Chili Peppers. I like that song, but have heard it about 68,000 times. So when I hear it, my mind wanders around.
And, what do you think I thought about? The Bees, of course. Here are some of the things I thought about (other than driving safely down Jackson):
- When, exactly, is Dennis Maxwell coming back?
He’s very anxious to come back, and since he hasn’t yet been placed on IR, maybe he could be playing.
- What will Robin Big Snake’s impact actually be and why is he here?
If he actually scores goals and opens up the ice for the Bees, great. If he’s here just to fight and sell tickets, that’s not so great.
I doubt coach Paul Fixter cares about selling tickets, though.
- Why isn’t Josh Bonar an All-Star?
His performance Tuesday night showed just how solid he’s been all season. Not only did he score three goals, he scored in different ways. That, my friends, is the mark of a scorer.
Fixter told me he thinks Bonar should be an All-Star, and not to be a homer, I think I agree. Bonar, and Travis Banga, have been the Bees’ most consistent players and both deserve recognition.
- Here is my story in today’s Monitor. What do you think it’s about?
- And here’s my Beesness video with Nick Warriner.
